LUCKETTS TRAVEL TRANSPORTS CROFTON COURT RESIDENTS IN CELEBRATORY OUTING'
About 20 pensioners at Stubbington’s Crofton Court were stranded in their homes when the lift broke at the sheltered accommodation where they live, meaning no way down for many upper floor residents.
Now, after six weeks of being trapped in their apartments, the lift has finally been fixed and Fareham-based Lucketts Travel has agreed to lend one of its luxury coaches – as well as an experienced driver – to offer transport to all of the residents on a celebratory day out.
The Crofton Court residents will enjoy their freedom with a special trip to the D-Day museum in Portsmouth’s on Thursday 21st June.
Paul Barringer, sales manager of the family run coach firm, Lucketts Travel, said that the company was always happy to support members of the community:
“It’s fantastic that the lift at Crofton Court has now been fixed and that the residents are once again able to see the outside world – and we’re delighted to offer one of our coaches to transport the residents on this celebratory outing.”
Lucketts Travel will be picking up all residents who would like to go on the excursion at 10am on 21st June from Crofton Court, transporting them to the Portsmouth waterfront and to the D-Day museum and then returning them home safely later on that day.
The well established coach company offers day excursions, UK, European and worldwide holidays as well as fulfilling a number of corporate, school, college and university contracts in the south region, and private hire.
